One more trip up the road to Redding.
GS has a brief stop at the office of the infusion folks because she will no longer be receiving TPN.
They want their pump back and they are going to remove the PICC line.
So what that means, that for the first time since either one of us stopped working, we have both been to town every day for a week.
It would be my druthers to avoid it altogether all of the time.
At one point I had managed to go up there only about once a month.
I figured out the other day that it takes longer to drive the ten miles north to Redding than it does to drive the 20 miles south to Red Bluff.
I don't particularly care to drive down there, either.
While I'm in such a good mood I should tell you about the little adventure on Tuesday.
That was the day afternoon we went to see the pulmonologist.
His office is all the way past the main part of Redding so it is best to just take the freeway (Interstate 5) to the last exit.
That way we miss driving on most of the city streets.
So we got in the car and drove out of the neighborhood about a half mile to the freeway, where we found the northbound onramp closed.
In fact it had been totally dismantled.
CalTrans (the state highway department) is rebuilding that interchange.
In fact, they are putting a traffic circle (roundabout) at a very busy spot.
It will be lots of fun because most folks here don't know how a regular intersection works, let alone a roundabout.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is at no point on the drive to the onramp was there any warning of the closure until we reached a point where we could not turn around until we traveled at least a half mile further.
The really fun part was the fuel tank's warning light had come on the evening before.
So I had to get fuel almost immediately.
I wonder what clown decided folks didn't have to know the ramp is closed?
I have a friend who works for CalTrans.
Maybe I will ask him to tell the idiots, "Thank you!"
Have any of you seen a traffic circle at a freeway interchange?
How's it working?
We're gonna have people who've never been to Anderson before, probably never seen a traffic circle before, mixing with local drivers, half of whom are clueless and in a hurry to be first in line at Walmart.
I'm predicting a disaster.
Really!
Go ahead listen to the music here
it fits
