I'd like to thank the lovely folks who took the time to leave a comment on my last post. Susan and Jane asked me if I used the box and pens and so I took the time this morning to write a letter in response to my friend Kathy who sent me a lovely hand-written note not long ago. I tried several of my nibs and settled on the one in my sterling silver pen which is a reproduction of Shakespeare's pen. I purchased it when I went to the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon many years ago. I also have a matching inkwell..
I must note that it is not that easy to use a very pointy dip pen as you can't write normally as when you try to move the pen up the tip digs into the papers surface... thusly my writing is not as fluid and nicely done as I'd like.
I didn't have an envelope at hand so I melted some sealing wax at the bottom of the letter to show you how it looks. This one is a dove carrying an olive branch to signify peace.. something I wish would settle upon my countrymen and women. And yours, too.
We give the dogs a teeth cleaning treat each day. Do you think they look forward to this? Yes they do! Our son and grandson will get the keys to their new home in a few weeks and we'll be down to one dog again. I'm happy for them to have their own place soon. And we'll begin turning our two upstairs bedrooms into comfortable guest rooms. It will be nice to re-decorate them.
I called my gym, the heating element has not been delivered or installed, so I will not be swimming today. I hope it gets fixed soon! So, I have a day to do whatever I like.. :-) What are your plans?
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
