493. Helium; movie review

HELIUM
Cert TBA
79 mins
BBFC advice: TBA

I am an ordinary fella and like my movies to keep me entertained whereas some critics are able to appreciate the art even if nothing much happens.
Such is the case with Eche Janga's Helium which has a bit of mafia style but drifts ziplessly along.
It focuses on a ruthless crimelord (Hans Dagalet) who is hiding out on a Dutch island to avoid Nigerian hitmen.
But as the wind whistles between the reeds his hardened personality does a gradual Volte face.
And that's it... time passes, few words are exchanged between the gangster and his associates but slowly (very slowly) he becomes, in their eyes, less of the man he used to be.
Frankly, I don't know what else to write about a film you almost certainly won't see unless you are a movie geek who goes to festivals.
I saw it on festivalscope.com
