Beyonce and her sister Solange both tested negative for the BRCA2 gene - Daily Mail

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:52 AM PDT

Beyonce and her sister Solange Knowles tested negative for the mutated BRCA2 gene.

Father Mathew Knowles revealed that his daughters were lucky not to inherit the gene mutation while discussing his breast cancer diagnosis during a stop by TMZ Live on Wednesday.

The BRCA2 mutation leaves men at a higher risk for prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, melanoma and breast cancer. In females the gene leads to higher incidences of ovarian and breast cancer.

Mathew also revealed that BRCA2 runs in his mother's side of the family, citing multiple breast cancer cases among his female relatives.

The former Destiny's Child manager publicly shared he is battling the illness and in an interview on Good Morning America on Monday.

He told presenter Michael Strahan that the first call he made after getting the life changing news was to his musician daughters to warn them that they could be carriers of the same gene which causes cancer.

'The first call was to my family, because this is genetics - it means that my kids have a higher chance, a higher risk, even my grandkids have a higher risk, and they handled it like they should - they went and got the test,' he said.

Mathew revealed during a TMZ Live session that he plans on removing the 'other breast' after already having 'three lymph nodes' removed.

'I have to say I'm doing very well,' Mathew said. 'I never had any pain or any symptoms of pain'

The music manager recalled seeing a 'a dot of blood' on his bed sheets over the course of a few days, which prompted him to seek medical help.

'I'm grateful to be cancer-free,' he said. 'They took out three lymph nodes ... and in January, the other breast will be removed.'

He credited 'being proactive' and 'early detection' for saving his life and hopes others will take the same precautions.

Mathew - who decided to share his condition to mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which runs throughout October - did not reveal the results Beyonce's and Solange's tests.

The music executive - who has Beyonce and Solange with his ex-wife Tina and two young children with current spouse Gena Avery, whom he married in 2013 - admits there has been a history of breast cancer throughout his family.

He said: 'Breast cancer has been prevalent in my family. My mother's sister died of breast cancer, my mother's sister's two and only daughters died of breast cancer and my sister-in-law died in March of breast cancer with three kids - a nine, 11- and a 15-year-old - and my mother-in-law had breast cancer. So breast cancer has been all around me. My wife's mother has breast cancer, too.'

CAN MEN GET BREAST CANCER? YES - AND IT'S OFTEN DEADLIER

It is exceedingly rare for men to get breast cancer, but possible, and when they do they are more at risk of dying of the disease.

Although men never develop milk ducts in their breasts as women do, they do have breast tissue, and the cells that makes up that tissue can become cancerous.

That said, men of course have far less breast tissue than their female counterparts, so the odds that any of that those cells multiply out of control are lower.

An estimated one percent of new cases of breast cancer every year in the US are diagnosed in men, about one in 1,000 of whom develop the disease.

That amounts to about 2,000 new male breast cancer cases a year, and between 500 and 800 deaths - compared to nearly 270,000 new cases and over 41,000 deaths among women.

Still, the fatality rate among men is higher among men.

While nearly 91 percent of women who develop breast cancer are still living five years later,  84 percent of men live the same amount of time after diagnosis.

This disparity in survival rates is mostly due to  few non-biological factors.

Men are less likely to be aware they can get breast cancer, so they may not know to even look for the signs.

Changes to men's minimal breast tissue are often more subtle, and even if they do notice, many men are embarrassed.

Most breast tumors in men form under the nipple or areola, where there tends to be a little more tissue.

Signs of male breast cancer are similar to those that occur in women: a lump, knot or portion of the tissue that feels thicker and may be tender, irritation, nipple indentation, dimpling or puckering and discharge.

Men can carry either BRCA gene, but BRCA2 leaves them particularly predisposed to breast cancer.

The average age at diagnosis is 65, and men with other excess breast tissue, high levels of estrogen or those who are overweight are at greater risk.

Mathew had his affected breast removed in July and he is currently in recovery and he will be having his second breast removed in January to minimize the risk of getting another tumor.

As a carrier of the BRCA2 gene, Mathew also has a higher risk of developing other forms of cancer and he is being actively tested for them.

He shared: 'Now what does having a mutation on BRCA2 mean for a man? You have a higher risk of getting breast cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer or melanoma ... I'm still getting test results back. I got an MRI for pancreatic cancer and my pancreas and liver are fine. My dermatologist removed two moles - both of which came back benign for melanoma. I got an MRI on my prostate a week ago, but we're still waiting on the results.'

'I am going to get the second breast removed in January, because I want to do anything I can to reduce the risk. We use the words 'cancer-free', but medically there's no such thing as 'cancer-free'. There's always a risk. My risk of a recurrence of breast cancer is less than five per cent, and the removal of the other breast reduces it down to about two per cent.

'My kids have a 50 per cent [chance of inheriting the BRCA gene mutation.] That's male or female. We used to think this was only an issue for women, but this is male or female.'

'I learned that the numbers that we have for men on breast cancer are not adequate because we don't have enough men that come forward that take the exam,' he said. 'I'm hoping by me coming here today, speaking out, letting folks know that you can survive this, but it has to be early detection. I can't over emphasize the word 'early.''

Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles reveals breast cancer diagnosis: signs, symptoms and risk factors for men - Yahoo News

Posted: 02 Oct 2019 03:37 AM PDT

Beyoncé's father, Mathew Knowles, has revealed he is battling breast cancer.

The 67-year-old music mogul, who is the father of Beyonce and Solange Knowles, detailed his battle with the disease in an interview with Michael Strahan in Wednesday's episode of 'Good Morning America'.

"What I want to share, Michael, is that I also am a surviver of breast cancer," begins Knowles, explaining that he was prompted to visit his doctor, and subsequently had a mammogram, after noticing spots of blood on his shirt and bedsheet.

Knowles, a former Xerox salesman who shot to fame after putting together Destiny's Child, says his first call was to his family, "because this is genetic."

"This means my kids and my grandkids have a higher risk," he explains.

Knowles adds that since his surgery in July, his four children (sisters Beyonce, 38, and Solange, 33, and their half-siblings Koi and Nixon) and grandchildren have been tested for the gene.

The health reveal comes at the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the time where women everywhere are reminded to check their breasts for signs for lumps or any abnormalities.

But men need to be breast aware, too.

Though boobs might not be something we immediately associate with men, they still have breast tissue, which means they're still at risk from breast cancer.

READ MORE: Breast Cancer Awareness Month: 15 things survivors want you to know

Though breast cancer in men is less common, according to Cancer Research UK around 390 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK in comparison to 54,800 women, Knowles diagnosis is proof it can and does happen.

And increasing awareness of the disease is crucial to saving lives.

Recent statistics from Insurancewith.com revealed that only 20% of men would see their GP immediately with common symptoms of breast cancer, whilst 78% of men believe there to be poor awareness of the disease.

Meanwhile, 24% of British men don't think they will be diagnosed with the condition – rising to 42% in the 18-24 age bracket.

"While women are significantly more likely to suffer from breast cancer, it is an issue that can affect men as well," explains Dr Jan Schaefer, Chief Medical Officer at MEDIGO.

"In fact, men have a 1 in 1,000 chance of getting it and, while the risks are significantly higher for women, men should also be aware of any potential warning signs."

The biggest concern for experts is the lack of awareness surrounding male breast cancer, which can often mean a late diagnosis.

"In cases of male breast cancer, once the condition is diagnosed, 30-40% of the time it is at a III or IV stage," Dr Schaefer continues.

"At MEDIGO, a handful of the 80,000 patients we have helped were men with breast cancer and, unfortunately, all of them were already at a late stage, which supports the fact that there is a lack of awareness, not just amongst men but amongst their partners and caregivers too."

Male breast cancer: the facts

Dr Jan Schaefer explains some of the symptoms men should be looking out for and when to seek medical help…

Risk factors

Not much research has been done into the causes of male breast cancer, as the chances of men having it are so much smaller. However, there are a number of factors that might increase the risk in men.

Family history and genetics could have a role to play. Men whose relatives had breast cancer are more susceptible to developing the disease in later years – especially in their 60s and 70s. Other known factors include radiation exposure and increased levels of, or exposure to, oestrogen. Oestrogen in men could be increased through medication, obesity and liver disease. Additionally, alcoholism has been found to have links with breast cancer in men.

What to look out for

Given the fact that the male breast is typically smaller than a woman's, this makes spotting any symptoms easier, which is why it is essential that men know exactly what to look out for, to catch the condition early and get the required treatment.

It is important to know how to check yourself for any early signs of breast cancer. Whenever you have the opportunity, whether in the shower or just before bed, press your fingers flat against your chest (right hand for the left pectoral, and left hand for the right) and move your fingers in a clockwise motion. Check the entire area, starting from the outside and moving towards the nipple, looking out for any unusual bumps or lumps. An unusual lump is typically hard, not painful and doesn't move around.

Once you've done this, check your nipples, looking out for any unusual discharge by gently squeezing each one in turn. You should also check for visual signs, such as the nipple turning inwards, a sore or rash around the nipple, or the surrounding skin becoming hard, red or blistered.

Lastly, you should also check your armpit for any unusual bumps, which can indicate swollen glands.

When to see your GP

The chances of men developing breast cancer are very low; however, if during a routine self-check you find any warning signs, like lumps, unusual discharge, rashes, or puckering of the skin, make sure to visit your GP. If you and your family have a history of breast cancer, make sure to mention this during your visit, along with any of the symptoms that you are experiencing.

Male breast cancer treatments

According to the NHS the treatment for breast cancer in men depends on how far the cancer has spread.

Possible treatments include:

  • surgery to remove the affected breast tissue and nipple (mastectomy) and some of the glands in your armpit

  • radiotherapy

  • chemotherapy

  • other medicines that help stop breast cancer growing.

What do Beyoncé, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Sandra Day O'Connor have in common? Empowdered Sugar, a cookbook celebrating famous women in pop culture, politics, and history. - News@Northeastern

Posted: 16 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT

It all started with a pun that put a playful spin on a popular nickname for Beyoncé, the world-famous pop star known to many super fans as "Queen Bey."

Grace Cuneo Lineman had conjured up the name of a pastry inspired by the nickname, "Beyhive Honey Cake," and then wondered whether she could create a recipe that lived up to the pun.

Grace Cuneo Lineman, left, and Karen Cuneo crafted more than 80 baking recipes inspired by the accomplishments of famous women in pop culture, politics, and history.

She took the idea to her sister, Karen Cuneo, who works as a food scientist, and asked for help.

"I brought it to Karen because it'd be a cool idea if she could bring it to life," says Lineman, who graduated from Northeastern in 2013 with a business degree concentrated in marketing. "We love to bounce ideas off of each other and it really spiraled from there."

Over the next two years, the two sisters crafted more than 80 baking recipes inspired by the accomplishments of famous women in pop culture, politics, and history. The name of each recipe, like "Beyhive Honey Cake," combines the name of a famous woman with an ingredient in the tasty treat.

"Gwen Stefani Hollabaklava" honors the pop star who sang "Hollaback Girl," which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2005. '"Sandra Day Oat Cobbler" pays tribute to Sandra Day O'Connor, the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court.  And "Eleanor Roosevelvet Cake" celebrates Eleanor Roosevelt, who fought for racial equality, advocated women receive the same pay for the same work as men, and served as First Lady of the United States for 12 years.

The sisters catalogued the recipes in Empowdered Sugar: A Collection of Sweets, Treats, and Female Feats, a 242-page cookbook, which publishes on Tuesday.

"It's so much more than a cookbook in that we are sharing these women's stories through baking and hopefully bringing women together in the kitchen," says Lineman.

Cuneo, who studied food science at Clemson University, created the recipes. Lineman helped come up with the puns. And an all-female staff designed the book, edited the recipes, and taste-tested the treats.

"We felt since the book was grounded in ideas of female empowerment, we wanted to share with our female family and friends," Lineman says. "We reached out to all of these different women in our lives and asked them to be a part of what we were creating."

Cuneo credits her drive to create the cookbook to her classes in the D'Amore-McKim School of Business and her two co-op experiences at Johnson & Johnson, which, she says, have prepared her to tackle new opportunities that come her way.

"I think Northeastern, especially the D'Amore-McKim School of Business, is so great at instilling an entrepreneurial spirit and exposing us to the professional life," Lineman says. "I was able to build on that when I worked on this cookbook."

Tina Knowles-Lawson Celebrates Beyoncé’s Birthday with Striking Look-Alike Photo - Oprah Mag

Posted: 04 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Let's be honest: The likelihood that September 4 is permanently marked in your head is fairly high, considering just about everyone is a fan of 23-time Grammy-winning superstar Beyoncé. But just in case your calendar didn't automatically update you this year, we're here to remind you that Queen Bey just turned 38, and no one is as excited to celebrate her as her mother, 65-year-old Tina Knowles-Lawson.

In a new mother-daughter photo, the mother of two (hey, Solange) dedicated an endearing birthday message to her eldest. "38 years ago today you came into my life and I know without a shred of doubt that God sent you!!! I had recently lost my mom and never thought that I could feel that particular kind of love again but 7 months later I was pregnant with you (39 years ago people)," she began.

She continued the Instagram caption with: "The moment I saw you I knew that that was IT!!!! We've been the best of friends since then. You have brought me such Joy and pride and love and friendship!!! Your heart is as big as Texas!! You are one of the best moms ever! And I love you soo much … Have the best birthday EVER!!!! Mom."

The sentiment is very touching—but we've got to address the fact that while they're both uniquely beautiful (and glowing), there's a striking resemblance made evident in this photograph. Is it the sharp brows? Flawless complexion? Sweet smile-slash-pout? We can't put our finger on it, but Bey and Ms. Tina look more like sisters than mother-daughter in this snap. Those are some genes.

Beyoncé is notoriously private, but thanks to the magic of the internet we know exactly how she rung in 38: at the Made in America festival last weekend, where "Truth Hurts" singer Lizzo performed for Bey and her husband. Funnily enough, Lizzo shared an image of them backstage, writing in her caption, "Swipe to lose your fu****g mind."

Yep, we would too.

Queen Bey even shared her own post from the day, sharing some snaps of her blowing out some candles backstage at Made in America.

Happy birthday, Beyoncé!

Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Bob Dylan & More Vie for Best Music Film Nominations at 2020 Grammys - Billboard

Posted: 01 Oct 2019 12:33 PM PDT

Springsteen's 14-month run at the Walter Kerr Theatre in 2017-18 has proven to be an awards magnet; he received a special Tony Award prior to the Emmy nom.

Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé, who competed at this year's Creative Arts Emmy Awards in the category of outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), may well square off again at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards in the category of best music film. Springsteen on Broadway and Beyoncé's Homecoming both premiered on Netflix.

Queen Bey and The Boss lost the Emmy to Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live in Liverpool. But they don't need to worry about that title at the Grammys; it isn't entered.

Springsteen won in this category in 2006 with Wings for Wheels: The Making of Born to Run. Beyoncé has yet to win in the category, despite three nominations for I Am... World Tour, On the Run Tour (with Jay Z) and Lemonade.

Beyoncé co-directed her film with Ed Burke. Should she win, she'll become just the second artist to win for directing (or co-directing) his or her winning film. The first was Alanis Morissette, who co-directed Jagged Little Pill—Live (1997) with Steve Purcell.

Springsteen's 14-month run at the Walter Kerr Theatre in 2017-18 has proven to be an awards magnet. He received a special Tony Award prior to the Emmy nom. Thom Zimny, who won a Grammy for directing Wings for Wheels: The Making of Born to Run, also directed the current film.

Bob Dylan is entered with Rolling Thunder Revue, which also bowed on Netflix. The film was directed by Oscar winner Martin Scorsese, who also directed Dylan's No Direction Home, the 2005 winner in this category.

Ron Howard, another Oscar-winning director, is entered with Pavarotti, about the late opera legend Luciano Pavarotti. Howard directed and produced the music doc. Howard won in this category for his previous music doc, The Beatles: Eight Days a Week the Touring Years (2016).

Madonna is entered with World of Madame X. She previously won for Madonna—Blonde Ambition World Tour Live (1991) and The Confessions Tour (2007). Madonna and Sting are the only two-time winners in the 36-year history of the category.

Coldplay, which is tied with Beyoncé and Eurythmics for the most noms in this category without a win (three), is entered with A Head Full of Dreams. The film features Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Noel Gallagher and others.

Several entered films have the same (or similar) titles as albums that are contenders for Grammy noms in various categories. These include Jonas Brothers' Chasing Happiness, The National's I Am Easy to Find, Khalid's Free Spirit, Solange's When I Get Home and Hillsong United's People (Live/Visual Album). The National has two films in contention: I Am Easy to Find, a 27-minute film directed by filmmaker Mike Mills and starring actress Alicia Vikander, and I Am Easy to Find (Live from New York's Beacon Theatre).

Two other entries -- Taylor Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour and Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman Diaries -- share titles with past Grammy-nominated albums by these superstars. Both artists have new albums vying for Grammy noms this year.

Avicii is competing posthumously with Avicii: True Stories. The EDM star died in 2018. Soundgarden's Live From the Artists Den is also entered. The band's frontman, Chris Cornell, died in 2017.

Three long-departed music stars -- Miles Davis (Birth of the Cool), Amy Winehouse (Back to Black) and the aforementioned Pavarotti -- are also represented on the entry list. Winehouse won a posthumous Grammy in this category for Amy (2015).

Two entries, Hitsville: The Making of Motown and Blue Note Records: Beyond the Notes, focus on two of the most admired record companies in music history.

Fiddler: A Miracle of Miracles is a look at the landmark 1964 Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof.

Two former music journalists worked on films that look at the fabled Laurel Canyon music scene. Andrew Slater directed and co-wrote Echo in the Canyon, while Cameron Crowe produced David Crosby's Remember My Name. Slater is a Grammy-nominated producer (Macy Gray's "I Try") and a former president of Capitol Records. Crowe won an Oscar and a Grammy for his work on Almost Famous.

Other Various Artists titles on the entry list include Bathtubs over Broadway, Hanging With My Sisters and ReMastered.

Morgan Neville co-directed Rick Rubin's Shangri-La. Neville won in this category five years ago for directing Twenty Feet From Stardom.

Other notable contenders include Travis Scott's Look Mom I Can Fly, Michael Bublé's Tour Stop 148 (from the tour for his To Be Loved album), Josh Groban's Bridges Live: Madison Square Garden, Wu-Tang Clan's Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men, Nas' Nasir, Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul's Soulfire Live!, Thom Yorke's Anima, Celtic Woman's Ancient Land—Live from Johnstown Castle, Wexford, Ireland/2018, Maluma's Maluma: Lo Que Era, Lo Que Soy, Lo Que Seré, Tenacious D's Tenacious D In Post-Apocalypto, Trey Anastasio's Between Me and My Mind and Flight of the Conchords' Live in London.

Just five films will be nominated out of 87 entries this year. (That's down from 102 entries in this category last year.)

Do Beyoncé and Her Sister, Solange, Get Along? - The Cheat Sheet

Posted: 17 Mar 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Beyoncé is not one to really share a lot from her personal life with the world.

Other than the occasional photos of her kids and husband, the singer has chosen to keep her personal relationships with others in her family to a minimum.

Even though that is the case, there is one person in Beyoncé life who she cherishes the most, and that is her younger sister, Solange.

Beyoncé and Solange have built such a strong relationship as sisters that they consider each other best friends, and have a love for each other that is unparalleled.

Beyoncé and Solange are each other's biggest supporters

Over the years, Beyoncé and Solange have gone in different directions when it came to their music careers.

Beyoncé was topping chart after chart with hit songs while Solange was co-writing and co-producing for fellow musical artists, as well as herself.

Though they took different paths, these two sisters have remained each other's biggest supporters in anything they have done.

Solange grew up always looking up to Beyoncé and the impact her big sister continues to have on the music industry.

While Beyoncé was selling out stadiums across the world and blowing minds with her out of this world performances, Solange was the first one to cheer on her sister loud enough for everyone to hear.

Beyoncé has also returned the favor.

Once Solange began her music career back when she was 14, Beyoncé has been fangirling over her sister ever since.

The "Formation" singer has always talked about how proud she is of Solange and has no problem saying it over and over again.

While sitting down with each other and Interview Magazine back in 2017, Beyoncé revealed that she always knew her sister was meant for greatness.

"But I'm so happy to interview you because, clearly, I'm your biggest fan and I'm super proud of you…I remember thinking, 'My little sister is going to be something super special,' because you always seemed to know what you wanted," Beyoncé told Solange during their interview.

They didn't start out having a close relationship

Though they are practically inseparable today, Beyoncé and Solange were not as close back when they were younger.

During the early years, the two sisters' relationship was strained due to Beyoncé prepping to be the international superstar she is today.

Most of Queen Bee's time back then, was consumed by performing and hanging out with fellow group member, Kelly Rowland.

When Solange was five years old, Rowland moved into the Knowles household and Beyoncé found herself spending more time with her friend rather than her sister.

Once Solange became a teenager, the sisters found themselves spending more time together and eventually established the unbreakable bon they have now.

Even though they took some time becoming close, Beyoncé was still a good big sister to Solange.

During their Q&A session with Interview magazine, Beyoncé asked her sister, "… honestly, growing up, how did I do as a big sister?"

Solange replied, "You did a kicka** job. You were the most patient, loving, wonderful sister ever. In the 30 years that we've been together, I think we've only really, like, butted heads … we can count on one hand."

Solange and Beyoncé have the most ideal relationship as sisters

With both Beyoncé and Solange focusing on empowering African American females through their music, they still make time for one another.

Solange has always looked up to Beyoncé and finds that there is no one more fitting to confide in about motherhood, friendship, and fame than her sister.

These two sisters have been through a lot together and even though many would think their careers would keep them apart, they are showing the world that their relationship as sisters is and will continue to grow with time.

Anna Vakili's sister suggests Greg O'Shea did dump Amber Gill by text - Metro.co.uk

Posted: 07 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Anna Vakili's sister Mandi has suggested that Greg O'Shea did actually break up with Amber Gill over text as she hung out with the Love Island winner and her friends on Friday night.

The shocking news of Greg and Amber's short relationship coming to an end was confirmed by Greg, who insisted that 'all this thing over text isn't true' after The Sun reported that Amber had been left 'devastated' when the Irish rugby player ended their relationship with a message.

However, at the same time, Amber had been getting over her heartbreak with the help of her friends, including fellow islanders Anna Vakili and Yewande Biala, with Anna's lookalike sister Mandi documenting the evening on Instagram Live.

And the friends threw some major shade at Greg as they spilled the beans on Amber's side of the story.

'They're asking you if you're OK,' one of 22-year-old Amber's friends said as she read comments on the live video, with Mandi making a dig at Greg as she shouted from the background: 'You all wanna know the answer but we can only break the news to you through text.'

Ouch!

Greg and Amber split

This comment definitely seems to suggest that Greg did break up with Amber over text and judging by the screams of laughter that come from the girls, with Anna clutching her face in hysterics, they seem pretty sure of it.

Later on in the video, the friends are seen embracing single life as they sing along to Beyoncé's iconic song Sorry (the only way to do it, tbh), with Amber and Anna both waving at the lyrics 'tell him, boy, bye.'

'Obviously he said bye, but we say bye back,' Mandi commented, implying that the break-up had been one-sided, 'bye bye, bye then.'

The news of Amber and Greg's five week relationship coming to an end after winning the ITV2 dating show came as a shock to fans, with many suggesting that Greg should return his share of the £50,000 prize after ending the relationship.

However, the 24-year-old insisted there were no hard feelings between the pair, saying: 'She lives in UK, and so many brands wants to work with her, and she deserves all of it, and I came back here.

'We're all jam packed busy, we are being realistic about this situation. But I am mad about her, and she is about me.'

Everything that’s gone down in the Greg, Amber and Anna breakup drama - The Tab

Posted: 09 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT

There are definitely three people in this breakup

In shocking news, Love Island 2019 winners Greg and Amber split last week. However, in the days since it's seemed as though there are three people involved in the breakup: Greg, Amber and Anna.

In fact, make that four – Anna's sister has also been backing Amber's corner. There have been constant Instagram story videos, TV interviews and shade throwing. It's been a lot to keep track of.

Here's a rundown of everything that's happened between Greg, Amber and Anna (and Anna's sister Mandi). You're welcome.

Greg and Amber split up last week

It was revealed last Friday that Greg and Amber had broken up just five weeks after the Love Island 2019 final.

Amber was said to have been left "devastated" after Greg dumped her by text. A source told The Sun: "Greg has broken up with Amber and is blaming their busy schedules and now they want to focus on their careers.

"Amber feels used by Greg. He was always aware of the distance and his career in their relationship, and yet he chose to seek out Amber in the villa knowing there would always be the distance.

"He hasn't made any effort to come to London to see Amber, despite it being over five weeks, it's always Amber who had to make the effort."

Greg spoke out and said the breakup wasn't over text

Everyone instantly clocked on that Amber and Greg were meant to be appearing on The Late Late Show in Ireland on Friday night, the day they had split up.

Greg went on the show anyway, but Amber didn't. This was awkward enough as it is. Obviously the breakup was spoken about on the show and Greg said: "Me and Amber have been chatting the last few days and the whole thing about breaking up over text isn't true. But we need to be realistic about the situation, and the fact she's in the UK."

"We're both so busy and we need to take these opportunities and protecting our careers. She has every brand wanting to work with her, and I'm trying to make the team for the Olympics with the Ireland 7s.

"It was over a long time, it wasn't just one text."

He also hinted he might want to get back with Amber in the future saying he's "mad about her" and he hopes "she's mad about me too". He added: "Who knows what the future holds."

The interview was a lot to take in.

But Anna's sister suggested otherwise and shaded Greg live on Instagram

It wasn't long before Anna's sister, Mandi, got involved. On Anna's Instagram story she posted a video of her saying: "It's facts. She's got screenshots out here. Don't test me."

Anna then takes the phone off her and says: "That's enough guys. Can't trust Mandi with my phone." Mandi can be heard saying in the background: "You all want to know the answer but we can only break the news to you through text."

SO WAS IT OR WASN'T IT BY TEXT?! 👀

Then Anna's sister and Anna posted a video of them singing Beyoncé 'Sorry'

Yeah we all know what the lyrics to that song are: "Boy, bye."

People started GOING for Anna and her sister Mandi

Obviously the videos are mostly of Anna and her sister and people were quick to go for them about posting Amber's business online.

One commented saying Amber didn't look involved and like she was "sad and uncomfortable". Another said "Anna's sister really wants to be famous". More tweets said the sisters were "all about the clout" and that posting so many public videos was "childish".

One tweet called Anna and her sister The Cramp Twins and accused them of not letting Amber "heal in peace".

Anna then took a screenshot of the tweet and accused people of being "racist" towards her and Mandi. She said: "Had enough of this constant attack of hating bullshit at me and Mandi. It's crazy if anything Amber is SOOO lucky to have the KRAMP twins around her, we give her love and support and a place to stay. I'm the best friend any of you could have.

"All I can put this down to is hate and racism because we are Iranian and don't have the kind of support system as other ethnicities in this country which is sad so we are targeted by others and even our own because we are easy victims to pray on."

Amber spoke out and defended her 'best friend' Anna

Amber reshared Anna's post of the screenshot and added: "This woman is the best friend I could ever wish for, she supports me 100 per cent. She has made me feel so good over these past few days and these comments need to stop.

"I'm happy so why's everyone else so bothered? She's trying to make me happy not you so go about your business please."

Amber shaded Greg even more, saying her and Anna's relationship was the realest thing to come out of the villa

Amber then shared a picture of herself and Anna on her Instagram story. It had a GIF on it that read: "This is real love" and the caption was: "The realest relationship to come out of the villa and that's the truth. I love you so much."

Greg who?!

Meanwhile, Greg has just been hanging out with the lads

Obviously nobody knows how Greg is really feeling, but he doesn't appear phased one bit. Since Greg and Amber split, he's posted nothing about it on social media. Instead, he's posted a picture of himself and some mates out for a swim.

And Amber has spilled exactly what the text messages said!!!

It looks like Greg did end it all via text. Speaking on the Loose Women panel Amber said she was disappointed and didn't expect the relationship to come to and end. She said: "I think the careers and the distance was always a factor. I don't know what changed. I wanted to make it work but it is what it is."

Amber went on to say the pair had spoken on the phone in the days before the split, but nothing was said about breaking up. She then explained: "I think there was a bit of miscommunication but I think if you don't want to be with someone you don't want to be with someone.

"Basically all I wanted was a bit of effort from him to come to London or Newcastle to see me. I said I'm going to have to give up if you don't put the effort in.

"And he said 'okay bye'. I was expecting it to be a bit different."

The drama goes on!!!

Beyoncé Hails Michelle Obama As Role Model For Black People: 'We Saw Our Mothers And Sisters' - HuffPost

Posted: 17 Apr 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Former first lady Michelle Obama received a special tribute from one of her most famous admirers, Beyoncé, as part of Time magazine's issue honoring the 100 most influential people of the year.

"Loving Michelle Obama wasn't much of a choice," the singer wrote in the profile published Wednesday. "It was something that came naturally, because of how she carried herself. Because she resembled us and was moving in spaces where, as black Americans, we weren't exactly meant to be, she seemed so powerful."

She then described meeting Obama for the first time when she performed at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.

"The way she looked, walked and spoke, in that warm but authoritative tone, we saw our mothers and sisters," she wrote.

Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z have since become good friends with the Obamas, and were among the former president's biggest celebrity supporters and fundraisers during his presidency.

Time often finds notable people who have personal connections to those on its annual "most influential" list and asks them to write tributes to the honorees.

Beyoncé hailed Michelle Obama as a "beacon of hope" for her three children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir.

"I am so grateful that my daughters and my son live in a world where Michelle Obama shines as a beacon of hope who inspires all of us to do better and to be better," she wrote.

Beyoncé's 'The Gift' album features Blue Ivy's singer-writer debut - New York Post

Posted: 19 Jul 2019 12:00 AM PDT

There's a new queen of the jungle in the Carter household.

As if Beyoncé voicing the lioness character of Nala in the new live-action remake of "The Lion King" wasn't enough to make her kids proud, Queen Bey gives oldest daughter Blue Ivy her own regal moment on her new album.

On "The Lion King: The Gift" — a companion LP to the movie executive-produced by Beyoncé, featuring original songs in what she has called a "love letter to Africa" — the diva's 7-year-old daughter with husband Jay-Z gets her own close-up as a featured vocalist on "Brown Skin Girl."

"Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls/The best thing in the world/Never trade you for anybody else," Blue Ivy sweetly sings alongside SAINt JHN — a Brooklyn-born artist of Guyanese descent — at the beginning of the song.

Then Nigeria's Wizkid and Beyoncé herself join in on the track, which celebrates the beauty of brown-skin sisters. "Your skin is not only dark/It shines and it tells your story," B croons over the lilting, African-accented groove.

The track shows love for some famous brown-skin bombshells, from Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong'o to Beyoncé's Destiny's Child cohort Kelly Rowland. "Pose like a trophy when Naomis walk in/She need an Oscar for that pretty dark skin/Pretty like Lupita when the cameras close in/Drip broke the levee when my Kellys roll in," Beyoncé sings.

But Blue Ivy gets the last word, closing out the song all by herself.

This isn't the first time Blue Ivy has appeared on one of her mom's albums. On 2013's surprise "Beyoncé" album, the then-23-month-old girl talked and giggled on the aptly titled "Blue."

Clearly, she has inherited her parents' comfort level in the studio. And having already sat in the front row at the Grammys, this child seems destined to carry on the family's musical legacy.

In addition to curating "The Lion King: The Gift," Beyoncé appears on 13 of 27 tracks, including "Bigger" — a soaring, atmospheric ballad punctuated with tribal drums — and the percussive dance jam "Find Your Way Back."

Elsewhere, Beyoncé reunites with Kendrick Lamar on "Nile," although at less than two minutes, the track fails to work up the fireworks of their "Freedom" pairing. Better is B's collaboration with Jay-Z and Childish Gambino" on the smooth vibeout "Mood 4 Eva," which pulses with the spirit of Africa.

The album closes with "Spirit," Beyoncé's ballad that also appears on the proper soundtrack of "The Lion King," which hits theaters today. Although it won't go down as one of B's most memorable songs, the gospel-infused track brings the album to a big Disney finish.
