Autumn is always enriched with the fruits the summer has been growing, and for a reason. The fruits, packed with vitamins which autumn is providing us, are there to protect us during winter. Nuts and seeds give us the necessary oils to keep us "warm" and to stop our skin from dehydrating. Fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants keep our skin glowy and our vision sharp as a needle with eyes sparkling from the minerals. It gives the human race extra energy to "reproduce" and to give birth to new life by the time summer is there. Although we have evolved to a species that can give birth whenever it wants to, autumn keeps bringing us these wonderful foods to survive the cold.
Even if you're not blessed with a garden that sheds different treasures each season, you too can benefit from autumn fruits since they will be very cheap at the store. So if you can't pick raspberries from a bush, get to the store and make use of nature's biggest gift: the fruits of autumn for your beauty.
Apart from consuming the following foods (except for the roses), which is the best thing you can do to benefit from the vitamins, you can use them to make scrubs and face masks as a replacement for any harsh chemical scrubs which are no good when your face is becoming dull and dry this summer.
1. Tangerine skin scream
A fresh cream you can leave on your face while taking a warm bath.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of cream or whole milk 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed tangerine juice 1 strainer

2 teaspoons cooked or canned pumpkin, pureed (see above for benefits) one-half teaspoon honey (humectant, regenerative) one-quarter teaspoon milk (or soymilk)(alpha hydroxyl acid, enzymes digest skin cells)
Directions

3. Grape seed face scrub
Ingredients
1 handful of crushed grape seeds. 3 spoons of almond oil. 50-60 drops or a spoonful of essential oil of your choice (I have used rose oil).
Directions
To get the crushed grape seeds, wash the grape seeds and keep them for drying for a few hours. Once dried, use the “imam dasta” (mortar and pestle) and crush the seeds. You won’t get a very fine power, but that is okay.
Keep this in some glass or plastic bowl, or in the same jar where you want to store the scrub. Then add 3 spoonfuls of almond oil in it. You can use some other lightweight oil which works well for your skin.
Then, add a spoonful of essential oil. You can use lavender oil to make it relaxing or lemon grass or orange oil to make it refreshing. Now, mix all the ingredients with help of a spoon, and your soothing and refreshing grape seed facial scrub is ready.
You can store it for a week or so without refrigerating. The seeds may sit at the bottom of the jar, which is quite normal as this one is an oil-based scrub, so mix it well every time before using. It works very well on skin, crushed grape seeds gently scrub the skin and the oils help you to give a nice massage to your face.
4. Lemon honey face pack
Mix 3 tsp of lemon juice with 3 tsp of honey and 0,5 tsp of boiled cabbage paste or almond powder. Wash of after 10 minutes with cold water and enjoy the new you!
5. Raspberry honey facial mask
The ingredients you will need to make the red raspberry honey facial mask will be ½ a cup of red raspberries, ½ a cup of honey, and a ½ a cup of rolled oats.
The way too make the red raspberry honey facial mask for combination skin is by placing the ½ a cup of red raspberries, ½ a cup of honey, and a ½ a cup of rolled oats into a small food processor. If you don't have one use a blender. They work the same when it comes to blending the ingredients together. Once you have the ingredients in the food processor all you need to do is puree and blend the ingredients together until you get a slightly thick syrupy reddish pink facial mask. After you may pour the mask into a bowl and bring it into a bathroom with you too use.
When you are ready to use the red raspberry honey facial mask they first thing you are going to want to do is splash your face with some warm water for a minute or two to help open up your pores.
Once you have done this you can take a handful of the homemade mask and lather it all over your face and skin. It will fill slightly sticky and maybe even a little gritty, but it is very soothing, nourishing, and healing to combination skin. Once the facial mask is on you will want to leave it on as long as you can. After you are done with the mask rinse it off with warm water and a face cloth. Your skin will be very soft, oily free, and any blemishes should look like they are healing and not as red. Your skin will also look more toned and firm. This is also a great facial mask too help get rid of acne.
6. Exfoliating walnut face mask
Ingredients:
- bag of walnuts - extra virgin olive oil - a bowl - some milk.
Directions
To get started you will need about a handful of walnuts. This is equivalent to about a half a cup of walnuts. Crack the walnuts open and then place them into a blender. Blend them up very fine. Once they are all ground up you will want to add about a half cup of olive oil to the walnut mixture.
Blend them together and push the liquefy button to make sure you get everything blended nicely. Next you will want to add about two teaspoons of milk to the mix. Blend these together by pushing the pulse button just a few times.
When you are all done with the mixture you can then pour the exfoliating walnut mask into a bowl. Before you apply the mask to your skin, you will want to wash your face off with some warm water. Pat your skin dry before applying the exfoliating walnut face mask. Dip your hand into the bowl and smooth it over your face.
Be sure to take the time and rub the exfoliating walnut mask into your skin very well. Rub it into your skin for about five minutes and then you can rinse it off of your skin. Be sure to store the extra exfoliating walnut facial mask into a tightly sealed bowl and place in the refrigerator.
You can use this exfoliating walnut facial mask at least one a week to give your skin a refreshing look. If you are an individual that tends to wear makeup on a daily basis you may want to use the exfoliating walnut facial mask at least two times a week. It will help to open up your pores after being hidden by the makeup all day long.
7. Orange facial scrub
Ingredients
- 1 orange - 2/3 cup of fine sea salt or sugar - 1/3 of liquid soap (face cleanser) - 1/3 cup of olive oil - 1 tsp of essential orange oil - a grater
Directions
Begin by grating 1 large orange to get as must zest as possible.
Mix together 2/3 cup of fine sea salt, 1/3 cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup of soap and the zest in a bowl. The liquid soap should be a very gentle one such as a baby wash or soft-soap, not dish soap or hand soap. The fine sea salt is the ingredient that exfoliates and also soothes rashes and burns. Stir the mixture until it is well blended.
Add one teaspoon of essential orange oil and mix further. The orange essential oil has aroma-therapeutic qualities that can calm the mind and leave a fresh fragrance.
Place in a glass or plastic container with a lid. It will last for up to one year but may need to be stirred.
Wet the face with lukewarm water, and apply the mixture generously to the face using the fingertips. Massage the mixture in a circular motion all over the face and upper neck.
Rinse well with lukewarm water, and pat dry with a towel. Use the orange facial scrub once a week.
8. Rose face mask
Rose masks cool and sooth the skin. Soak 8 petals in 3-4 tablespoons of water for 2-3 hours. Then mash the petals into the water and add 3 tablespoons of honey. Mix well, and apply to entire face. Leave on for 15-30 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
