With this great news and the beginning of the last year of my PhD, I have been as busy as ever and quite distracted from blogging, but I think it's ok, because everything is coming together in the other aspects of life and I am permanently in a happy jolly state.
But let's get in to today's post! I want to show you all the non-beauty favorites of this past year which have made it a great and unforgettable!

Let's start with some fashion. This year has been a bit of a transformation for me. I used to wear only black, white and bright colors (blue, orange, purple), but this year I opened up a bit more and expanded my wardrobe to all the brown and neutral tones for both clothes and shoes. This also meant opening up to gold (colored) jewelry and now I'm converted! It all started with these boots which even go their own post here.
Next favorites are my new tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro that I received for my birthday from my wonderful friends and boyfriend and my Batavus Diva bicycle. The tablet is my new couch companion and it's great to be able to read blogs and browse Pinterest while someone else watches gold-mining stuff on Tv. The bike was a necessary purchase and it will last me forever thanks to the great quality of the components. Plus it's gorgeous, I just love it so much! Of course it's mint green, which is another favorite of the year. The color brings so much joy but it can be sophisticated and goes along with so many other colors. Definitely a big mint fan!
Finally probably my most favorite of all favorites is my friend Andreanne! She came along in January last year to start her post-doc in our group and quickly became my best friend and everything just isn't as nice when she's not around. Our group of colleagues has become a group of close friends and I believe this is greatly thanks to her. We shared many adventures and I will miss her like hell when she goes back to Canada in a couple of weeks. But good things are waiting for her there and we're already planning visits and meetups. All will be good (little tear on my notebook here).
I hope you enjoyed this non-beauty post, it takes me a bit more to put something like this online but I am hoping to get more me into this blog.
What were your favorites this past year? Was there someone special?
