Adèle Exarchopoulos born 22 November 1993 is a French actress, and the youngest artist ever to be awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for her leading performance as Adèle in Blue Is the Warmest Colour, a role which gave her worldwide attention and critical acclaim. She also won the Trophée Chopard Award for Female Revelation of the Year at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and received a total of 37 other nominations for her performance as a sexually confused teenager who plunges into a relationship with a 22-year-old woman.

She grew up in the 19th arrondissement of Paris close to Place des Fêtes. Her father Didier Exarchopoulos is a guitar teacher and her mother Marina Niquet a nurse. Her grandfather was Greek.

When she was nine, her parents sent her to acting classes to cure her of her shyness. She continued to take lessons until 2005 where she made her debut in the film Martha. In 2006, Exarchopoulos was spotted by an agent and made her first television appearance in an episode of the French police series R.I.S, police scientifique. At thirteen, she had a role in the 2007 film Boxes.
